The end of the world.
That was the only thought that came to Li Wei when he saw the scene.
Plots like this showed up all the time in movies and games: alien creatures secretly infiltrated humanity, gradually turned humans into their own kind, and tried to rule the world.
Of course, the protagonist would stumble upon their scheme, get hunted down, and so on. Usually, it ended with a bomb or a nuke destroying the entire town or city.
And naturally, after the credits, a survivor would pop up to set the stage for a sequel.
But Li Wei's problem right now was that he couldn't even handle this installment, never mind a sequel!
Because this world didn't have weapons of mass destruction like nuclear bombs!
If it did, Li Wei would have dropped one down there without a second thought!
But it didn't!
That was just despair-inducing.
A major city with a million people-what was he supposed to fight it with? Even the Eye of the Sky couldn't pull that off!
"Haaah..."
Li Wei sat back down in his chair, pressed a hand to his forehead, and sighed softly.
The officers on the bridge were rather surprised to see him like this. Although they hadn't spent very long with Li Wei, their experience told them that once they reached their destination, he usually came up with their next move and a plan very quickly. He didn't normally look troubled like he did now.
Was there something wrong with this city?
For a while, the bridge fell silent. Nothing could be heard except the occasional sound of machinery.
"Whew..."
Li Wei seemed to notice the strange atmosphere too. Though he was inwardly speechless, he forced himself to rally, opened his eyes, sat upright, and picked up the viewing scope
