When Li Wei woke again, it was already the next morning. He yawned, stretched, and sat up in bed.

He had to admit, last night's dream had been quite interesting. The Goddess of Night was a little dim, but that had also allowed him to learn something about the monster.

That, however, raised a question.

The Goddess of Night hadn't mentioned it-perhaps she hadn't even noticed it herself-but after putting all the information together, Li Wei had spotted a problem.

First, he designated their own world as A and the parallel world as B.

According to the Goddess of Night, the monster had landed in world A and been sealed away by followers of the Holy Lord Church.

Yet so far, both the monster and its assistant had been found in world B, not world A.

That raised a question: did they exist in world A?

Li Wei didn't know what properties this kind of creature possessed. Some science fiction films and games he'd seen claimed that higher-dimensional beings could interfere with lower dimensions and so on. In other words, to explain this problem, the monster would have to exist in both A and B.

But how exactly did that work?

Of course, parallel worlds could differ because of certain circumstances. The Empire in the parallel world was proof enough. Their world had no coal essence, but Li Wei didn't know whether they simply hadn't discovered it or whether it didn't exist at all. The same principle applied to different civilizations, too. Different environments produced different civilizations, and different choices led to different paths of development...

Li Wei pulled himself out of his thoughts and shook his head. He disliked things like parallel worlds. They were too complicated, too much of a headache, and there was no complete theoretical framework
