The giant demon swung its greatsword down hard at the Night Raven Mecha. Just then, however, the thruster on the Mecha's left side suddenly spat a fierce jet of flame, sending it sliding straight to the right. It narrowly dodged the giant demon's attack, and the greatsword struck empty air before slamming into the ground, sinking deep into the stone slabs as though cutting through butter.
"Oh?"
The Holy Maiden's eyes lit up at the sight. She had to admit that this was a very interesting design. For a human, dodging an attack like that would have been difficult, and the same was true of a doll. Yet although this strange steel doll's movements were not particularly agile, and were even somewhat rigid, its ingenious design made up for that shortcoming.
By moving sideways to dodge the attack, it avoided having to readjust its fighting stance and could seize the opportunity to strike instead-which was exactly what Li Wei did.
The instant the Night Raven Mecha landed, the thrusters on its back erupted again, propelling the entire Mecha toward the giant demon like a cannonball.
The demon had only just finished its swing and had no way to shift its balance. The Mecha charged in from the side and slammed squarely into it. Roaring in fury, the demon discarded its sword and tried to seize the Mecha with both hands. Just then, the machine guns on either side of the Mecha's head swiveled toward the demon's eyes.
"Ratatatatat!!!"
A barrage of gunfire shredded the demon's eyes into a bloody mess. It let out a piercing scream, instinctively withdrawing the hands it had reached toward the Mecha to cover its eyes.
At that moment, the Mecha raised the pile bunker on its left arm and pressed it against the demon's chin.
