Naturally, the Cront Army had bolstered its defenses against the imperial air force. It had built antiaircraft guns with greater range, paired them with Blaze Bird flocks, and even deployed a secret weapon-a group of Beastmen modified to fly. Once the Empire's aerial warships appeared, these flying Beastmen would immediately take off and attempt to board and destroy them.
In addition, the Cront Army had created large, griffin-like Chimeras that humans could ride. With guns, cannons, and sharp beaks and claws, they could rupture the airships' gasbags and bring down the Empire's airships.
Without aerial support, the Cront Army believed it could still win with its legions of Chimeras
