Once something grew beyond a certain size, it became truly awe-inspiring.
That was true of anything.
For example-a heart.
Yes, right above Li Wei's head, a heart nearly the size of a basketball court hung suspended in midair. There was an opening on one side, and mithril gushed from it, forming a seemingly endless sea of mithril on the ground.
Not only that, but several vines had bound it tightly and suspended it in the air. Apart from the ruptured blood vessel, two other vessels dangled from above, plunging deep into the sea of mithril.
Judging by their appearance, those should be coronary arteries...
Li Wei stood there in a daze, even trying to use his half-baked medical knowledge to work out which blood vessel had ruptured and whether it could be stitched back together. Well, probably not. Even if it could, it would do no good.
"This really is unexpected."
Even the Holy Maiden's eyes widened in astonishment at the sight, before she warily scanned their surroundings.
"Be careful, Mr. Li Wei. This is nothing good."
"Oh? You know what's going on here?"
"Yes."
The Holy Maiden nodded.
"You know that before the flame went out, the gods walked this land, don't you?"
"Yes."
The Holy Maiden did not need to repeat that history. Li Wei already knew it.
"The gods certainly weren't a united front. In fact, their tangled relationships and troubles were every bit as complicated as those of mortals. Naturally, all sorts of conflicts arose between them, even killings."
"And this place..."
As she spoke, the Holy Maiden looked around.
"I think this is the corpse of a god."
"You mean... a god's dead body?"
Li Wei was, to say the least, shocked by her words.
"You're saying a god's corpse turned into a mountain... Oh,
