Once the imperial army entered the ruins of Derrin, the fighting became a bloody, close-quarters affair. Both sides used the ruins to launch one desperate attack after another. The imperial army relied on its overwhelming firepower to try to wipe out Cront's Beastmen from a distance.

The Beastmen, meanwhile, did everything they could to close the gap. After all, once they charged into the imperial ranks and engaged in close combat, most soldiers were no match for them.

More importantly, the soldiers had little in the way of melee weapons.
