The City of Flowers was not pitch-black beneath the black fog. Instead, the sunlight turned a bloody red as it pierced the fog, like the light of a setting sun, as though the entire world had been stained with blood. Most of the once magnificent, exquisite buildings along the streets were now dilapidated. He could not tell whether that was because he had blown up the Church headquarters or because of the subsequent demon invasion.
That was not all. Li Wei also spotted quite a few of the demons' creative little touches.
Just as Fog City was named for its frequent fog, the City of Flowers took its name from the flowers, plants, and trees that filled it, making the entire city resemble a beautiful, enormous garden. Now, it still lived up to its name.

Flowers stood in a bed not far ahead of Li Wei. Nestled among their blood-red petals, human heads swayed incessantly. Their expressions showed despair, madness, confusion, and pain. The stems beneath their heads bristled with thorns, piercing straight into their necks and holding the poor souls' heads in a merciless grip.
Whenever the wind howled past, those heads shook without stopping, making sounds that hovered between weeping and laughter.
Of course, besides flowers, there was plenty of "grass"-palms buried underground, with only the fingers protruding from the soil, stretching desperately to grasp something, yet catching nothing.
