As the most famous building in the City of Pearls, it naturally bustled with people coming and going. The workday was just beginning when a man in a black trench coat and top hat strolled into the Parliament Building, cane in hand, and approached the reception desk.
"Hello, sir."
The receptionist hurriedly smiled at the young man before her, looking at him eagerly. After all, she had never seen such a handsome man before!
She immediately addressed him in her gentlest, sweetest voice, wearing her softest, prettiest smile.
"Who would you like to see?"
While secretly admiring the young man's handsome looks, the receptionist also wondered about him. His clothes suggested he was from the Empire rather than Sasha. But if he was an imperial envoy, why had he come alone?
"Hello, miss."
Li Wei smiled and nodded at the woman before him.
"Please tell Prime Minister Carloy Mihály that Li Wei, the imperial detective, requests an audience."
"Oh!"
At Li Wei's answer, the receptionist first nodded reflexively, then suddenly realized what he had said. She hastily covered her mouth, her eyes widening as she stared at him in disbelief.

Compared to most people, Li Wei enjoyed worldwide fame, largely thanks to his identity. Titles like Thistle Knight or imperial count would not attract much attention from most people. A famous detective, however, was another matter entirely. Especially one who had solved numerous cases steeped in legend and bizarre mysteries. People were naturally drawn to the unusual, and stories and cases that sounded utterly incredible were particularly easy to spread.
Thus, although Li Wei's exploits were mostly published only in The Explorer, entertainment papers in other countries could simply copy them.
