There was no denying that Ice City was extraordinarily dangerous.
Besides the dark nether hounds lurking in the shadows and the Wild Hunt Knights that passed through from time to time, there were all kinds of bizarre monsters.
Among them were ice monsters transformed from the city's original inhabitants, their bodies frozen solid, like zombies made of ice.
There were also wraith banshees whose very souls had been imprisoned by Ice City, driven mad by a thousand years of confinement. Frankly, these monsters were terrifying and numerous. Had a lone adventurer or a small squad come here, they would have suffered devastating losses, if not been wiped out entirely.
But Li Wei was different. He had brought an army!
Over a thousand armored infantry mechs, plus fifty Mecha-a bona fide vanguard of war!
Who the hell wants to play haunted-castle explorer with you? I'm here to fight a war on terror!
The ice monsters could not withstand bullets, and even the banshees could only wail and vanish in the blazing flames. So far, Li Wei had not needed to fight at all. At most, he used [Command Aura] and [Old Sign Blessing] to give the soldiers around him buffs and resistance. Yet these ordinary Empire soldiers had fought their way straight into Ice City!
Not only that, Li Wei discovered that Mecha were actually more effective against these mysterious creatures than armored infantry mechs!
The armored infantry mechs needed to weaken the monsters with several volleys of bullets before killing them. Mecha, however, could damage them directly, without first weakening them!
Why was that?
