Delicate was a wonderful summer retreat.
In summer especially, its cool climate and lush green grass made it a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.
But it was only February now, which made things a little-
"Waaah, cold, cold, cold!"
Mia the Deer Woman took a stroll through the forest, then ran back into the house with a great deal of shouting and flopped down in front of the fireplace, refusing to get up.
Watching her, Li Wei took a sip of milk tea and gave her a disdainful look.
"Look at you. You spent all those years in Ice City, and you're still afraid of the cold?"
"Hey, it's not like I wanted to stay there!"
The Deer Woman immediately bristled at his remark.
"If the Ice Holy Maiden hadn't sealed off all of Tanner City, I would've left ages ago! Do I look like someone who enjoys running around in winter?"
"I think you do."
Li Wei chuckled and looked her over.
"Hmm, sleek, glossy fur, thick and soft. I bet it feels nice."
"What are you planning?!"
At those words, the Deer Woman sprang up in fright and quickly backed away from Li Wei.
"Well, I'm not going to skin you to make a fur coat."
Li Wei rolled his eyes at her adorably dim-witted reaction.
"I really don't know why the Ice Holy Maiden summoned you to serve as a guard."
"Heh-heh."
Hearing his complaint, the Deer Woman planted her hands on her hips and raised her head proudly.
"Because I'm fast, of course!"
"What good does being fast do?"
At that point, the Winged Woman finally spoke.
"Mia is very sensitive to danger. If anything goes wrong, she'll be the first to notice."
Now Li Wei understood. So she was a canary in a coal
