For Neverwinter, it was an ordinary yet extraordinary day.
As a merchant, Creed had gotten up early as usual. Traveling merchants had to keep an eye on the market every day, after all.
Today, however, he had risen early because one of his subordinates had brought him some strange news.
A brand-new shop had opened in Neverwinter's commercial district.
That alone would not have been particularly strange, but this shop was very strange indeed.
First, according to the rumors, the shop had not existed the previous day. There had been nothing but an empty lot there. Yet the following morning, when the neighbors stepped outside, they discovered a building standing on it. It was so absurd that many wondered whether something had gone wrong with their memories.
And this was no ordinary stone building. The entire thing was made of steel! From a distance, it looked like a pile of steel boxes stacked together!
What was more, every night, dazzling lights appeared on the tall walls outside the shop, illuminating the surrounding streets as brightly as day.
On top of that, according to his subordinate, the shop sold all sorts of goods, all of them cheap and well made. If things continued this way, it might even drive every other business in Neverwinter's commercial district under!
Creed did not take that claim too seriously. Merchants loved to exaggerate. The shop might be unusual, but how could it possibly put an entire commercial district out of business? That was simply impossible.
Still, Creed admitted that these exaggerated rumors had caught his attention. He decided to visit the shop and see whether he could find an opportunity to make some money.
After breakfast, Creed made his way to the commercial district at his usual pace.
He soon spotted the strange building.
