The Temple of Justice.

When Li Wei walked through the temple doors, he felt something different from what he had experienced in the Holy Lord Church's churches.

The Holy Lord Church designed its churches with towering vaulted ceilings, filling them with an overwhelming sense of majesty and oppression. Even children instinctively lowered their voices upon entering, afraid of disturbing some indescribable sacred presence.

The God of Justice's temples were different from other places. They were all right on the street- ahem, wrong line.

Simply put, this temple did not seem quite so removed from the world. A statue of the god stood at its center, but that was all. The platforms around it rose slightly, yet were not impossibly high.

Here, the god was not some lofty, distant presence. But once people entered, they felt as though a stern father were watching them. He loved them, but he also scrutinized them severely. This was not an artificially created atmosphere. It felt more like something that had always existed here and would never change. Everyone here felt as though some powerful, sacred being were watching them.

It truly was a peculiar relationship between a god and his believers.

Li Wei gazed at the statue, then turned toward the priest beside him.

"Thank you. I'd like to spend a little time here alone and experience the God of Justice's power."

"Of course. That's no problem."

The priest did not refuse. After all, the man had "donated" a considerable sum, and some wealthy people really did want private time before the God of Justice, whether to repent or pray. It was understandable.

He nodded, then turned and left, giving Li Wei a little "free time."
