The High Palace.
It was a magnificent royal palace built of white marble on the high ground north of Silvermoon City. Its soaring spires rose one after another, like a city above the clouds.
And the Steel Warcar entering this beautiful palace under the escort of the silver-armored cavalry looked like a menacing beast of darkness.
With the High Palace right before them, Emily breathed a sigh of relief.
"All right, we're about to enter the High Palace. Under Lady Alustriel's protection, this place is safe. I think we can relax now."
"Hah. Naive."
Hearing Emily's relieved words, however, Li Wei gave a quiet snort.
"Everyone, stay alert. This is the most dangerous place of all."
"Huh? Why?"
"Think about it."
As Li Wei spoke, he glanced at the bound captain, who still hadn't uttered a word.
"When it comes to deploying the silver-armored knights, even without a commission or written orders from Lady Alustriel, he wouldn't just nod and go because some random person came along and told him to arrest someone somewhere. Even if we hadn't been there and he'd successfully completed his mission, he would still have to answer for that when he returned to Silvermoon City."
"Well... that's true."
Emily frowned, considered it, then nodded. Whatever the circumstances, the captain had indeed violated his orders and acted without authorization. Even if the outcome had been good, he would still have been punished.
After all, an army was an organization built on strict obedience. Soldiers had to follow orders, and disobedience was a very serious offense. A good outcome didn't make everything acceptable. Otherwise, who would command the army in the future? If everyone thought they could escape punishment as long as the results were good, wouldn't the army descend into chaos? So even if this captain
