The heart of Sun City was naturally where the Sun Temple stood. And the Sun Temple's signature building was its Tower.
The only fortunate thing was that Li Wei would not have to climb the stairs.
"Boom!"
The Mechanical Dragon beat its wings as it swept through the night sky, then crashed straight into the balcony at the top of the Tower. A moment later, its hatch opened, and Li Wei led the others out.
"Cough, cough... Mr. Li Wei, could you please be a little less rough next time?"
Katie waved a hand to clear the dust in front of her face and complained.
"I'll consider it next time."
Li Wei tightened his grip on his weapons, answering offhandedly while carefully watching the space ahead. This was where he had previously seen the girl through the Doll Bird, but she was nowhere in sight now. Instead, several masked clergy in long robes stood before him.
Behind them stood dozens of fully armed knights in heavy armor. With swords and shields in hand, they blocked a closed door.
Clearly, the girl was behind that door.
The reason Li Wei had not simply destroyed the place with a blast of the Mechanical Dragon's breath was simple: his opponent's true body was not entirely physical. Destroying the Tower might only make it harder to find her again. After all, he could hardly crawl through the rubble digging holes, and there was no guarantee the debris would even bury her.
If this had been a flying, corporeal Alien Monster like the one at the Great Salt Lake, Li Wei would have had no such concerns. He would have bombarded it with concentrated firepower.
Unfortunately, this enemy was closer to an incorporeal ghost-at the very least, firepower alone would not solve the problem.
