In plenty of movies, villains smugly blasted open sealed places, released something they couldn't handle, and then got wiped out.

But Li Wei wasn't afraid. Even if what he was doing wasn't all that different from those villains, he didn't think he would share their fate.

Their firepower was woefully inadequate.

In most movies, villains excavating ancient ruins brought, at most, a small squad of elite soldiers-never more than a platoon. Even a movie like Raiders of the Lost Ark, which cast the little mustached man as a villain scouring the world for mysterious treasures, wouldn't dare put too many soldiers in a ruin. At most, they might bring in an airship or something. They wouldn't even dare bring out a tank.

Probably because if those things appeared, the monster wouldn't be able to throw its weight around after waking up. Or the screenwriter wouldn't know how to make the story work, and the protagonist would have no chance of escaping.
