After Big Annie ran a series of experiments, there was both good news and bad news.
The bad news was that the crystals themselves were a source of contamination. Simply putting them in water would make that water cause crystals to grow inside anyone who drank it.
To Li Wei, these things were far more terrifying than he had imagined. If someone took even a single fragment outside, it could potentially cause a disaster worse than Zombies.
The good news was that there was a way to deal with them.
They could use an Anti-Magic Field.
The so-called Anti-Magic Field was the weapon the Dispel Team used to disrupt magic through frequencies. Since Li Wei thought this seemed like magic, Big Annie had the Dispel Team test their Anti-Magic Field on it.
It actually worked. Under the effects of the Anti-Magic Field, drinking water containing the crystals no longer caused crystals to form inside the body. Even the experimental rabbits that had already begun crystallizing stopped doing so while inside the Anti-Magic Field.
However, the process resumed as soon as they left the Anti-Magic Field.
After all, the Anti-Magic Field only disrupted magic. It did not outright erase supernatural power the way Li Wei's [Reality Anchoring] did.
Big Annie could not make sense of it, no matter how hard she tried. She found the whole thing unbelievable. Clearly, to this scholar from a world of biotechnology, it was an exceptionally difficult mystery.
Li Wei found it just as unbelievable. He clearly remembered Kia explaining that the Anti-Magic Field worked because magic used supernatural power operating at extremely precise frequencies. The Anti-Magic Field essentially interfered with and interrupted that process through brute force, thereby nullifying the magic.
