After dying in a ruined future, Naruto returned to the moment Nagato used Rinne Rebirth after the battle with Pain. He resolved to change the future and announced that he would take Nagato’s Rinnegan.

• In his final moments, Naruto told Rei he would seek enough power to protect those he loved, and Rei sent his soul back to the past.
