Chapter Summaries

Naruto and Sasuke fought through a series of increasingly powerful techniques, while the newly named Uzumaki Hei Taro sacrificed himself to bring Naruto a Truth-Seeking Orb. Naruto took the orb and prepared to end the battle.

Naruto and Sasuke unleashed their full powers in a clash of Yin-Yang lightning and a colossal Truth-Seeking Orb. Naruto left the battle poised to launch an even larger Expansive Truth-Seeking Orb at Sasuke.

• Naruto used Ōmononushi to copy thousands of Truth-Seeking Orbs, then gave nine of them souls and named them his personal guards, honoring Kurotarō as their departed eldest brother.

Naruto defeated Sasuke by using an enormous, merged Truth-Seeking Orb to destroy his Susanoo and bury him in the ruins of the Valley of the End. After Sasuke used his eye powers to turn the fight around, Naruto’s sentient Truth-Seeking Orbs knocked him unconscious, and Naruto prepared to persuade him rather than kill him.

• Naruto expanded thousands of Truth-Seeking Orbs into a massive sphere and drove Sasuke’s Susanoo deep beneath the Valley of the End.
• Naruto descended into the crater and told the battered Sasuke that he would not kill him.
• Sasuke swapped their injuries, but Naruto summoned the Gate of the Great God, and Sasuke used Amenotejikara to pin Naruto beneath it.
• Kuro Saburō struck Sasuke from behind, knocking him unconscious while the other sentient Truth-Seeking Orbs watched.
• Kuro Jūrō helped Naruto escape from beneath the gate, and Naruto healed his broken leg with Yang Power.
• Naruto walked toward Sasuke, determined to persuade him after deciding this would be their final battle.

Naruto explained his reasons for seeking to revive Kaguya, and Sasuke accepted Naruto’s memories, reconciled with him, and agreed to help in the coming war. As they prepared to leave the Valley of the End, Hagoromo appeared, sealed the ruins, and summoned the past Kage to stop Naruto.

• Naruto told Sasuke his account of Kaguya and argued that her actions deserved understanding and another chance.
• Naruto shared his memories with Sasuke, who admitted he had been wrong and said he had lost to Naruto in every sense.
• Sasuke agreed to return with Naruto and help prepare for the coming war.

• Indra used Wood Flower Stream to destroy Asura’s True Several Thousand Hands, then sent Black Zetsu to restrain him while he attacked Obito and Minato.
• Indra activated a delayed genjutsu on Minato and used the Great Soul-Shaking Sword to pierce Obito’s chest and damage his soul.

As the Ten-Tails transformed toward becoming the God Tree, Madara Uchiha and Kakashi Hatake confronted Indra. Indra offered to join forces with Madara, but Madara rejected his claim of kinship, and Indra challenged him to fight.

• Black Zetsu realized Naruto had not appeared and resolved to protect the Ten-Tails until Indra could absorb the God Tree.
• Madara Uchiha and Kakashi Hatake arrived, and Kakashi used simulations to report Indra’s life-draining eye, black-orb defenses, and wide-ranging attacks.
• Indra fired a Tailed Beast Bomb at them, but Madara’s Majestic Destroyer Flame launched it into the sky, where it exploded.
• Indra descended from the Ten-Tails and invited Madara to join forces as his reincarnation and descendant.

• Indra's Six Paths: Susanoo destroyed three of Madara's Limbo Susanoo with its Heavenly War Halberd, but Madara exchanged places with the last one and grabbed its wrist.
• Madara called to Kakashi, who used Kamui to break through Susanoo's defenses and let a Limbo shadow knock Indra out of it.

As the God Tree emerged and Kakashi collapsed, Madara’s life force began returning inside Kamui’s dimension, while an unknown change stirred in his Rinnegan.

• Madara and Kakashi used Limbo exchanges and Kamui Shuriken to counter Indra’s attacks, until Kakashi exhausted his chakra and Indra destroyed Madara’s Susanoo.
• Kakashi passed through Six Paths: Susanoo and seized Indra, but Indra escaped by tearing off his arm, which Kakashi pulled into spacetime along with the Yin-Yang Six Paths Staff.
• Madara shielded Kakashi from Indra’s Wood Flower Stream, suffering rapid aging, then asked Kakashi to protect Ali and his child.

At the Valley of the End, Naruto persuaded the Sage of Six Paths to accept a wager: if Naruto could make Kaguya an ally, the Sage would stop opposing him and grant him hidden power.

• Indra noticed the God Tree's flower was about to bloom and insisted on waiting, frustrating Black Zetsu's plans to weaken him before Kaguya's resurrection.

• Shikaku and Konan told the arriving Konoha ninja that the exercise was a response to Indra, the Ten-Tails, and the impending Infinite Tsukuyomi, and Yugao said Kakashi had gone to the Land of Lightning.
• Kumogakure, Iwagakure, Sunagakure, and Kirigakure forces arrived outside Amegakure, where old rivalries heightened tensions.
• Naruto and Sasuke returned to Amegakure, and Naruto discussed protecting the gathered ninja from the Infinite Tsukuyomi with the Hokage and Asura.

• Indra projected the Infinite Tsukuyomi through the moon, while Naruto, Sasuke, Madara, and Obito protected Amegakure with the Four Pillar God Formation.

Obito used Omodaru to revive the ninja in an endless cycle as Indra slaughtered them, while Naruto and the others worked to evade and counter Indra’s worldwide Wood Release attack. Kabuto Yakushi offered Might Guy a blood-red scroll so Guy could unleash the Eight Gates without dying, leaving his response unresolved.

• Obito repeatedly revived the ninja who charged Indra, and their endless attacks continued until Indra used God: Earth-Piercing Nails against the living across the battlefield.
• Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke identified the spikes as a God Tree-based Wood Release attack that targeted living humans, while Ōnoki and the Raikage escaped to Obito’s position.
• Obito used Cessation of Arhat to sever the attack’s connection to Naruto and the other main combatants, then called for the Impure World Reincarnates to fight Indra.

Indra’s attacks failed to stop Obito’s reincarnated army, so he targeted Obito and clashed with Madara instead. Madara revealed that his Limbo: Border Jail had evolved and pulled the four Hokage into its inner world to help fight Indra.

• Indra’s Truth-Seeking Orb Flying Guillotine shredded the reincarnated Guy clones, but they reappeared through Obito’s vortex.
• Indra rushed Obito, but Minato blocked him and was wounded before Madara drove Indra back with Limbo: Border Jail.
• Indra’s Wood Flower Stream killed Madara once, but Madara’s shadows protected him and then granted him a period of invulnerability.
• Madara’s Limbo shadows attacked Indra, while Madara used Limbo: Border Jail to transport Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, and Minato into its inner world.

Madara and the four Hokage fought Indra inside Limbo, breaking his Truth-Seeking Orb barrier and burying him beneath a meteor before Limbo ended. Afterward, Naruto privately explained the war to Might Guy, who chose to trust him and opened the Eight Gates.
