Lox naturally had no idea what had happened in the Warhammer universe. He had already left his homeland and did not even know how vast the distance between the two universes truly was.

The distance between universes was already difficult to gauge through common sense or experience. At least until Lox expanded his theoretical framework to the multiversal level, he could not explain any of this.

After completing his first cross-universe journey, the Emperor's Compass had completely dimmed, looking drained of energy and utterly listless.

However, Lox also discovered that this divine artifact capable of carrying him across the multiverse was slowly recovering. At that rate, though, it would probably take tens of thousands of years to fully restore itself.

"Slow is fine. At least there's hope." Lox comforted himself.

What he feared was that the Emperor's Compass might be a single-use item, gone for good after one use. How else would he continue crossing universes? How else could he someday return to the Warhammer universe?

He had come on an expedition, not as a refugee. Everything in the Warhammer universe weighed heavily on his mind and filled him with worry.

Traveling through the Warp in this universe was the most comfortable and natural experience Lox had ever had. He even suspected that humans could survive in the Warp for some time without activating a Gellar Field.

Without Warp storms interfering, the stability of Warp travel had risen almost in a straight line. It was only slightly inferior to the Eldar Webway.

Lox had once conceived of several other forms of faster-than-light travel, but once efficiency, cost, and countless other factors were considered, it became clear that humanity's choice of Warp travel had been inevitable.
