The Shadow of the Celestials

When the Wolverine from the future spoke the word "Celestials," Lox's pupils subtly widened.

Based on those lingering memories, he had a vague understanding of the so-called Celestials.

They were one of the earliest lifeforms born in the universe, their existence shaped by both material forces and immaterial psychic power.

No one knew what they truly were, where they came from, or why they existed.

But one thing was certain: every Celestial possessed unimaginably immense power.

Some particularly powerful Celestials could alter time, space, laws, and even concepts. Beings with such power were undoubtedly apex existences in the material universe.

These beings called Celestials instinctively reminded Lox of the entities Trazyn had once mentioned to him—the ones that had enslaved the Necrontyr and devoured every Necrontyr soul through the biotransference ritual.

The C'tan, or as humanity called them: the Star Gods.

The C'tan were embodiments of the Warhammer universe's pure physical laws. By sheer will, they could freely alter the laws of the material universe and shape reality itself, yet this had nothing whatsoever to do with the Warp's power.

The Necrontyr had suffered terribly under the C'tan. Near the end of the War in Heaven between the C'tan and the Old Ones, the Necrontyr who had become Necrons did not hesitate to viciously betray those temperamental, incomparably greedy gods of reality while the Star Gods had been weakened by war.

Lox knew just how powerful the Necrons were, yet even so, during the C'tan's heyday, they had been nothing more than servants and snacks to those gods.

If humanity of the Great Crusade era encountered complete C'tan, Lox held an extremely pessimistic view of their chances.

Other than the Emperor, their all-purpose trump card, humanity had virtually no means of dealing with those complete gods of the material universe.
