Hello, Optimus Prime

Lox's recovery of Sentinel Prime, who had lain dormant after crashing on the Moon, had happened three months ago.

Because he had kept such a low profile, neither humanity on Earth nor the Decepticons that had begun stirring again realized that a third faction had already appeared within the Solar System.

During this time, Lox once again checked his timeline and discovered that he had arrived too early.

Even Optimus Prime and the other Autobots had yet to receive Bumblebee's summons and descend upon Earth from deep space.

With Optimus Prime absent, many of Lox's plans lacked the conditions to proceed.

Although he had already obtained Space Bridge technology, Lox's ambitions had long since gone far beyond that.

Only children made choices. He wanted it all!

He also needed the complete technological tree possessed by the Transformers:

This included the Seed Bomb that could convert carbon-based lifeforms into silicon-based lifeforms; the Transformation Cog needed to change forms; the Matrix of Leadership hidden in a Jordanian temple; and the Star Harvester buried within Egypt's pyramids.

All of these were relics of Cybertronian civilization and held immense research value.

Lox's view of Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobot faction, was very similar to his view of Professor X.

Optimus Prime was too merciful and kind. His xenophilic beliefs made him friendlier toward humans than even toward his own kind.

If Optimus Prime had been human, then for such a traitor to humanity, the first thing Lox would have done was wipe him out root and branch, leaving him no chance to cause trouble.

But Optimus Prime was a Transformer, and his friendliness toward humans was something Lox was happy to see.
