Guilliman: Turning the World Upside Down

Guilliman realized a fact: he seemed to have been overconfident.

His absolute confidence in himself had led him step by step into the logical trap carefully woven by the debating boy before him.

Setting aside his prejudices, the other party did make a great deal of sense: perhaps by coincidence, humanity and the Orks shared astonishing similarities in many respects.

Humanity's history was far too brief, while Greenskin Orks were an ancient race born more than sixty million years ago, during the final era of the War in Heaven.

Though they had endured countless hardships, and the Krork of old had degenerated into Orks, they still possessed an extraordinarily deep foundation.

At the very least, the ancient technology concealed within Ork genetic bloodlines had not yet been fully unearthed.

Under the joint suppression of the Necrons and the Aeldari, they had never formed a sufficiently vast, stable, prosperous galactic empire.

Without sufficient numbers and scale, their technology could never have been fully unlocked.

The Ullanor Ork Empire had originally been their greatest opportunity: the Aeldari, through ten thousand years of reckless indulgence, had awakened Slaanesh and stood on the brink of extinction, while the Necrons had also suffered as time passed, with more and more dynasties malfunctioning and decaying.

Yet, by some cursed stroke of fate, they encountered the human Imperium, which had just risen again from the trough of history and was now at the height of its glory, launching another Great Crusade.

Thus, the Greenskin Orks, a race theoretically possessed of limitless potential, had so often appeared merely as background scenery for other races, reduced to stepping-stones.

And if one insisted on arguing whether humanity and Greenskin Orks were truly related, that led to another unresolved question.

Where exactly had humanity come from, and who had created humanity?
