The environment within the Eye of Terror was extraordinarily peculiar. It belonged neither to the material universe nor to the Warp, but was a strange realm born from the interweaving and fusion of both.
To travel safely through the Warp here, one had to choose the proper route, avoiding danger as much as possible while improving travel efficiency.
With Magnus serving as living navigation, the Indomitable Thunderhawk accurately reached a relatively calm passage, then sped toward the edge of the Eye of Terror.
The gunship's violent jolting finally eased somewhat, and only then did Jaghatai Khan relinquish control of the Thunderhawk to its auxiliary systems, allowing it to cruise automatically along the relatively safe route indicated by Magnus's psychic powers.
The cabin was filled with the mingled smell of hot metal, ionized ozone, and primarch sweat. The crude life-support system emitted a monotonous hum as it produced the oxygen needed to sustain life.
Leman Russ rubbed the backside that had been painfully battered by the rough armor plating and bared his teeth as he complained, "Jaghatai! If you fly like that again, I'll throw you out through the turret! This piece of junk nearly shook itself apart!"
The Chogorian merely answered with a wild, uninhibited grin, revealing a row of white teeth.
"Brother, a true rider never complains about his mount's wildness. Didn't we make it off that planet?"
"Never mind the process. Just tell me whether we got the result."
Jaghatai Khan leisurely stroked his beard, his face still filled with lingering delight from the recent burst of reckless speed.
