The STC Lox deployed took more than twenty-four Terra hours to manufacture an analysis array large enough to scan the entirety of Mount Pharos.

But that was only the beginning. As the Pharos device was a Necron technological creation, most of its technology differed from humanity's scientific framework.

Lox could only rely on the most laborious method, scanning every smallest component and every unique structure of the Pharos apparatus into the database.

Fortunately, Necron artifacts could be scanned. Many STC templates made by humanity had anti-reverse-engineering scan measures; once they detected unauthorized analysis, the STC would likely self-destruct.

This had once been a contingency humanity devised to prevent its technology from being stolen by xenos forces.

Of course, Lox vaguely understood the deeper implications behind it as well.

The Necrons were an ancient race whose technological strength surpassed even humanity at its former peak. The fact that they had not implemented such anti-theft measures suggested one possibility: they did not care if other beings deciphered their technology.

The second possibility was that they were supremely confident no other race could crack their technology.

Lox personally leaned toward the latter. Humanity had observed traces of many wars throughout the galaxy: artificially created massive black holes, abnormal radiation belts stretching across several light-years.

Humanity had even discovered evidence that space and time had suffered widespread distortion and destruction. The Necrons, who were connected to all this, were clearly no friendly or benevolent race.

"Fully scanning all Pharos data is estimated to require at least another five Terra days."

A green progress bar flickered across the STC display, allowing Dantioch and the others to see the current progress of the deciphering process clearly.

"Once the scan is complete, activate Pharos and light up Macragge," Lox said, looking at the Warsmith. "The before-and-after data
