The ancient Aeldari had not fallen in the terrifying War in Heaven. After succeeding the Necrons as rulers, these victors rapidly succumbed to corruption and decadence.
"Of course, the speed described here is measured on the scale of a galactic empire. From the time my people entered slumber, when the Aeldari Empire became the galaxy's hegemon, to the empire's fall, nearly sixty million years passed."
Sixty million years?
Lox calculated for a moment. Though he had no precise timeframe for reference, he could roughly conclude that the Aeldari Empire had fallen after humanity began spreading into the galaxy.
"The exact time was before your Emperor began the Great Crusade."
"Can you guess why your Emperor immediately launched the Great Crusade in the thirty-first millennium?"

Trazyn continued.
"The Warp is a mirror of the material universe. Intense emotional fluctuations raise raging storms in the Sea of Souls. Clearly, you have already encountered this."
Lox nodded in agreement. After all, the entire galaxy was currently affected by the Great Rift, and his original purpose in
