A coincidence?
Sorry, but most things in this world were no coincidence.
The overlord of Solemnace gripped his empathic obliterator staff and staggered through his museum.
He locked the treasures recovered from that weak Necron dynasty on Sotha within stasis fields. Trazyn's consciousness rejoiced at having collected another fragment of Necrontyr civilization.
Suddenly, the grating screech of heavy metal came from behind him.
Without turning his head, the Necron overlord fiddled with his latest acquisition and spoke slowly.

As though he had expected it all along, Trazyn was not surprised that his attack missed. Or rather, it would have been truly strange if the attack had actually struck that old bastard.
For this uninvited visitor was his "old friend," as well as a Necron prophet—the most skilled of astromancers. Even back when they had still been Necrontyr, Orikan could calculate the future through the patterns of stellar motion.
This fellow had been a close confidant of the last Silent King. When the Necrontyr race as a whole believed the Deceiver and cast their entire species into the biotransference furnaces, he had been the only one who believed the Deceiver's
