"These Fenrisians really were barbarians. Their beacon had charged straight against the beast tide. Those monstrous beasts could crush them into the ground with a single step."

High in the sky, Qin Xin of the White Scars piloted a Tengu Mech, flying in formation with his battle-brothers.

He tilted his head slightly and looked through the transparent cockpit at the magnificent sight of countless beasts stampeding below.

Not even the seasonal migrations across the grasslands of Chogoris, his Legion's homeworld, could compare to a tenth of the spectacle of the colossal beasts besieging Pandora.

Qin Xin knew this was the enemy's final struggle. They had gathered most of the planet's savage strength in an attempt to defeat the human explorers.

The Tengu squadron, cruising at a steady speed, suddenly detected explosive energy readings. A strangely colored mushroom cloud abruptly rose from the sea of beasts below.

It did not seem to be the color of radioactive nuclear material. It resembled some bizarre toxic fog leaking into the air.

The atmosphere shook violently, while the beasts on the ground were flung away by the raging storm like grains of sand.

Like a child knocking over toy soldiers on a table, the colossal beasts immediately suffered devastating casualties.

"Was that one of our tactical nuclear weapons?" Qin Xin asked over the comms channel.

Before the other warriors could answer, Fafnir's agonized howl came from the ground.

"Russ preserve us, it was us. We ran into a six-legged reptilian creature that looked like a toad. Those damned things exploded."

Qin Xin vaguely sensed the shrill whistle of a rapid fall coming from Fafnir's communicator. But weren't they on the ground battlefield? How could they be falling?

"That was because they were blasted into the air." Lox's voice suddenly sounded over the comms channel.
