"Don't worry about the details, Guilliman. Let's discuss how to reach Terra and support the Imperial loyalists there."
Lion laughed it off, temporarily glossing over the matter.
If his overly compassionate brother learned what he had done, he would probably fly into a furious rage.
It had been a necessary sacrifice.
Since they were discussing how to return to Terra through the Webway, Guilliman merely suppressed his suspicions for the moment. He intended to find out exactly what Lion was hiding after the meeting ended.
But by the Emperor, he swore in the name of the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar that the Lion had definitely done something bad again.
Guilliman found that his instincts were especially useful when dealing with Lion. No matter how well the other man concealed things, he could always sense the slightest hint that something was wrong.

Lion was instinctively uninterested in such alliances and cooperation. For so many years, the Dark Angels had most often acted independently, rarely cooperating with their brother Legions.
But refusing would mean being excluded. Why should those damned Aeldari occupy the Webway?
If he killed all the Aeldari, would the Webway change hands?
The Lion's thoughts churned violently. After considering it for a while, he decided to join this so-called alliance first.
Whether he withdrew later would still be up to him. There was no harm in agreeing
