Ark Mechanicus vessels were among the largest ships in the Imperial order. These colossal warships, either inherited from the ancient Dark Age or built through the full efforts of certain forge worlds, varied in size. Some of the more outrageous ones were as vast as small satellites.
Their hulls contained factories, refineries, power stations, and laboratories, even including proving grounds and gene-vaults. Their immense industrial capacity could rival that of some smaller forge worlds.
For example, the Ark Mechanicus currently appearing in orbit around Ganymede was even larger than the Dark Angels' former flagship, the Invincible Reason.
When calculating the number of Imperial warships, Ark Mechanicus vessels were often excluded. These colossal ships belonging to the Adeptus Mechanicus possessed an exceptional degree of independence, but that did not mean they were weaker than Imperial warships.
The nova cannon mounted on the Ark's prow possessed terrifying destructive power. Four sets of lance arrays and two sets of conventional Weapon Arrays were enough to make these colossal ships, which usually did not participate in war, the most terrifying opponents in space battles when necessary.
