"So, was the Blackstone Fortress ultimately an Aeldari creation, or a Necron creation?"
Kebor-Har's thought matrix began to ponder the question. It was not particularly complicated, but because so much time had passed and those involved had long since vanished, it had instead become difficult to find an answer.
"The Aeldari claimed it was a weapon created by their god, Vaul. Vaul's talisman could tear open the veil between the material universe and the Warp, draw vast quantities of aetheric energy, and unleash psychic vortexes to destroy all enemies in their path."
"Yet Blackstone was most widely used by the Necrons. Their tomb worlds and world engines were all created from Blackstone."
Hearing the Fabricator-General's question, Horus was in an unusually good mood and decided to answer him.
"Could it be that both sides possessed Blackstone Fortresses at one time, my Har?"
"Blackstone is merely an objective material. Anyone can use it, including us humans."
Though Horus's words were cordial, Kebor-Har's auditory processors detected another undertone. The current Horus was no longer the sun-like figure he had once been.
Although he still appeared unchanged, the Fabricator-General felt that this very "sameness" was something Horus had deliberately imitated.
He was imitating Horus's mannerisms, imitating that sun-like warmth. But a fake was still a fake; it was not real.
Kebor-Har was not tactless enough to expose this. As long as Horus could provide him with resources and materials, support his research into and decryption of the Warp, it mattered little to him whether Horus was real or false.
Those Sons of Horus, however, seemed to truly believe that their father was still the same father. The stupidity of organics...
"You and I both know that the very existence of such a special substance as Blackstone violates the underlying logic of this universe.
