"Damn the Death Guard. Mortarion and his stinking cans have completely ruined this beautiful world."

"Why did they have to turn every planet into a festering version of Barbarus?"

Raldoron, First Captain of the Blood Angels, stood upon the bridge of the Red Tear. By the Archangel's command, he had led more than two thousand Legion veterans to the world of Minoris Garmon 147.

They would save as many humans here as they could and pull them back from the brink of death.

Widely acknowledged as one of the three great figures of the Great Crusade, Raldoron stood at the pinnacle of the Space Marines alongside Sigismund, the Black Knight of the Imperial Fists, and Ezekyle Abaddon of the Sons of Horus.

Yet compared to Sigismund and Abaddon, Raldoron kept a far lower profile. He rarely displayed combat prowess as overwhelming as the Black Knight's or Abaddon's.

In truth, Raldoron was better at relying on flexible, varied command methods. His fluid, adaptable style allowed him to respond to a battlefield that changed by the moment.

"The Primarch's will is our will. He does not wish to see these mortals weep and die in despair, which is why he sent us."

Raldoron's Tigrus-pattern power armor bore ornate pauldrons and wing-shaped arm guards. Compared to the splendid armor of the Sanguinary Guard, his own plate appeared far more modest.

That suited his reserved nature. The First Captain did not enjoy staying too closely with his brothers. He was better at maintaining a detached stance, seeing into his battle-brothers' thoughts and guiding them more effectively.

"This planet was once a lush agricultural world. The food produced here supplied several major nearby planets, but now all of it is dead."

"Look at it. It is not even as good as Baal."
