In truth, Lox had not yet used the power of his authority in battle since acquiring it.
It was like a treasure vault had opened before him, but how many abilities he could uncover remained unknown. Lox could only keep trying, correcting, and improving the way he used it.
These dozen or so ultra-high-output force field generators were his first attempt. He wanted to test what effect this gravity weapon would have against Warp daemons.
When a force field carrying a thousand times standard gravity descended upon the Lord of Change, Lox keenly sensed an immaterial power trying to distort the force field's suppression.
Of that thousandfold gravity field, perhaps only seventy percent was truly affecting the mangy bird.
The existence of Warp power, a force shaped by belief and will, meant that human weapons often proved ineffective against Chaos daemons. Instead, more primitive close-combat weapons, which better conformed to the rules of the Warp, could inflict greater damage.
Yet even weakened, a gravity field of this magnitude remained terrifying. For a Warp daemon to appear in the material universe, it had to obey the rules of the material universe, and would naturally be constrained by a fundamental force like gravity.
The daemon's bones and muscles were subjected to a brutal test. Even tough metal would twist and deform beneath such a horrifying force field.
At the same time, part of the Ten Thousand Lights' hull began to melt and reshape under Lox's control, and hundreds of tonnes of metal crashed down from above the hold.
Nor did Lox stop there. Thoughtfully, he added more than a dozen heavy thrusters to those hundred-tonne metal blocks and gave them an extra push at full force.
In an instant, the Lord of Change, already pinned to the deck by the gravity field
