Usran's feelings at this moment were beyond words, and Lox's delight was equally obvious.

The Emperor's personal promise and recognition were more reliable and effective than any law or doctrine. This was what it meant for his words to become law.

This would be a turning point in the relationship between the two races. Before today, the Aeldari had ranked extremely high on the Imperium's list of hated species.

Nearly every human who encountered an Aeldari wanted nothing more than to kill them as quickly as possible, hunting these elusive aliens across the galaxy.

Many humans could not even tell how many factions the Aeldari were divided into. They did not care whether one was an Asuryani, a Drukhari, an Exodite, or a Harlequin.

The Asuryani, who dealt with humanity most often, relied on their control of the Webway to vanish without a trace whenever the Imperium pursued them, leaving their pursuers unable even to give chase.

From Lox's understanding, humans thought the Aeldari untrustworthy precisely because they could be trustworthy. These bizarre-minded aliens would sometimes appear out of nowhere to help humanity overcome a crisis, yet at other times appear just as inexplicably to ruin and slaughter humans.

It was this uncertainty, this constant wavering between reliability and unreliability, that led humans who had been badly burned to simply take the broadest approach and classify all Aeldari as xenos that had to be killed.

Lox knew that these Asuryani acted as they did because of their utterly unreliable prophecies. They did not merely get humans killed over things they saw in prophecy; often, they got themselves killed as well.

Hatred had been reinforced and deepened through these repeated misunderstandings. Today, under the witness of the Master of Mankind and the Aeldari, both sides would forge a more dependable alliance.
