The Battle of Amatra ended in victory for the Ultramarines.
It was a great war worthy of being recorded in history. Ultramarines commander Orpheo Cassandra used the forces of a single planet to drag the two traitor legions, the Word Bearers and the World Eaters, into the mire of war.
This brilliant defensive battle achieved results beyond imagination. It could be said that the balance of power in the eastern galaxy had been reversed after this battle, and the traitors could no longer destroy loyal worlds.
The World Eaters' flagship, the Conqueror, was destroyed and crashed onto the planet's surface, beyond recovery. Meanwhile, the Word Bearers' flagship, the Law of Truth, was boarded and captured by Captain Mesaro and his men.
The Ultramarines were clearing out this Gloriana-class Battleship. They needed to remove the traces of corruption within it before it could be put to use again.
The Lady Blessed was destroyed during the naval battle with the war planet and was now orbiting Amatra.
This warship could no longer be recovered or used. Even from the surface, its wreckage could be seen reflecting the sunlight.
Yet what surprised Guilliman most was that the force commanded by Orpheo had successfully decapitated Angron, the World Eaters' primarch. They had truly slain a primarch.
It was only a pity that Orpheo was still undergoing treatment. Otherwise, Guilliman would not have minded awarding him the Five Hundred Worlds' highest honor on the spot, in recognition of his contribution.
The surviving Ultramarines, including the veterans who had been interred within Dreadnoughts during earlier battles, all received personal meetings and condolences from Guilliman. As heroes of the Battle of Amatra, their deeds would be praised by everyone in the Five Hundred Worlds.
After the battle ended, the garrison forces finally had time to tally their
