Yi Shuyuan glanced at the Netherworld Officials nearby. Every person who had died had already had their soul drawn out, and the closest ghost stood only a few steps from him.

Some of those ghosts were bewildered, others panicked, and a few actually wore delighted expressions.

Whatever their reaction, however, they invariably stared blankly for a long while when they first saw their own corpses.

All the ghosts had been gathered, bringing the work of Yuanjiang County's Underworld Office to an end. After Sun Heng and the other Netherworld Officials finished counting them, they cupped their hands and bowed to Yi Shuyuan a short distance away.

Jia Yuntong's spot was by far the filthiest part of the execution platform, and none of the bailiffs wanted to go near it.

Willing or not, however, they still had to gather all the bodies, load them onto handcarts, and dump them at the mass grave, since none of these prisoners had friends or relatives coming to claim their remains.

The crowd of spectators gradually dispersed as well. Yi Shuyuan
