The next day, on the outskirts of Sea Eye City, Li Chen and Gu Mocheng took their fishing rods, baskets, and other gear and headed toward the waters to the east.
Unlike elsewhere, bodies of water here did not necessarily lie in low ground. Instead, they could be seen everywhere simply by looking up.
"Space is distorted here, and magnetic origin is in turmoil. Islands, rivers, lakes, and seas often float in the sky like this. Once you've seen more of them, little brother, you'll get used to it."
Seeing Li Chen staring at a distant river that stretched across the sky like a flying dragon, Gu Mocheng explained with a smile.
Li Chen nodded and gathered magic power in his eyes. Sure enough, clouds spread overhead, while the colorless primordial energy of the void shrouded everything like thick fog, subtly altering the terrain throughout the Star Sea.
Upside-down scenery could be seen everywhere here. The pull of magnetic origin and the effects of various natural ores also sent floating islands drifting about.
The place Gu Mocheng was taking Li Chen to today, however, was relatively fixed.
It was a satellite island above Sea Eye City's eastern outskirts. Originally nameless, it had gradually become known as the Fishing Platform because so many people went there to fish.
The Fishing Platform hovered steadily ten li outside the city, more than a hundred zhang above the ground. A celestial river wound around it like a jade sash around a waist.
Li Chen and Gu Mocheng rose into the air and flew toward it. Before long, they reached the floating island and suddenly felt their bodies grow light. The magnetic origin had shifted; they were no longer under Sea Eye City's influence below, but had been caught in the Fishing Platform's pull.
