He meant visiting Gennobion before the assassination and even revealing his true identity to him.
Roland said, "It is rather strange. If he were a man intent on accomplishing great things, he would never do something so unnecessary.
But Gennobion is on our side now.
Even if he has an agenda of his own, he wouldn't take part in this."
Grand Mage Watson glanced at him and said, "You don't need to say that to me. I've investigated this Gennobion and assessed the threat he poses.
He probably intends to pursue an open strategy with us, using the push to foster mid-magic development and the compilation of the Lainer Encyclopedia to find an opportunity for Leiner's revival.
But men like Agathus specialize in covert schemes. Every move they make must have a deeper purpose.

Roland looked surprised. "You mean... he wants to distract us?"
"That is certainly possible," Grand Mage Watson said, before adding a warning. "Of course, we can't rule out the possibility that they have already joined forces.
