As Roland slowly made his entrance, Selad grinned and, sure enough, said something unsuitable for a live broadcast.
Roland smiled calmly. "Mr. Selad, it certainly has been a long time."
Selad said, "We tribesmen don't have all the schemes you mages do, but there's one thing we understand very well: our lord's glory belongs to the people of the North. Secretly hoarding these cards is blasphemy against our lord. Do you admit your guilt?"
Roland said, "Mr. Selad, there's no point wasting words. Let's settle this with a card game."
As he spoke, a coin dropped out of the void, spinning rapidly.
A moment later, it showed its engraved face: the silhouettes of two duelists facing each other, cards in hand.
This ancient emblem originated with the first group of Legendary powerhouses who founded the Card Association.
Drawn by a mysterious force, an illusory figure slowly emerged: an elderly, white-haired man with an imposing expression.
"He actually appeared! The god of referees... Judis!"
Tiluowei of the Card Association murmured in astonishment.
"Who's that?" Princess Rosa and Atali couldn't help turning toward the Green Dragon Trina. She was Dragonkind, after all, far older than any human and possessed of inherited memories in her bloodline.
Trina said, "An old man who fancied becoming a god as a mortal. Of the people who founded the Card Association thousands of years ago, he was the most successful!
"But judging by his appearance, he can still only manifest his authority on occasions like this."
Her face showed a trace of disdain, but in truth, she was desperately envious.
