"A pureblood elf. Was she from Betura of the Third Dynasty, Gossus of the Fourth Dynasty, or Moonland?
Wait, could she be a Tiniara native?
But either way, elves are born mages. How could she have ended up in such a miserable state?"
Roland and Trina speculated.
He walked over and took a blanket from his Dimensional Bag to cover the elf. Only then did he discover, to his shock, that her eyes were dull and gray, utterly devoid of luster. She had clearly been blinded with poison.
"What's your name?"
After a moment's thought, Roland asked in Beturan Elvish, which was commonly spoken in Atrelin.
The elf's lips moved slightly, but no sound came out.
"How awful. Could she have been rendered mute too?"
Roland shook his head. Some spells could be cast with only a verbal component, and elves were born mages.
It was possible that she had been silenced as a safety precaution.
Roland took out several Magic Cards, recited the incantations, and activated several Cold Flame Cutters to sever the chains.
Then he summoned an Invisible Servant to lift her up.
Before long, Roland and Trina emerged and rejoined Gang Jide and the others.
There were no genuine class professionals in this mansion, but there were plenty of vicious servants, including some brutal-looking thugs. Dealing with them had taken a little effort.
Roland briefly explained the situation, and everyone erupted in righteous anger. "They even mutilated young girls!"
Now they understood why those lackeys had been equipped with swords, hand crossbows, and other weapons, making them comparable to a mundane army.
"Go release the people inside and ask where they came from."
Everyone set off as instructed.
While Gang Jide and the others were busy, Roland used Rapid Reading to skim the written records found here.
