Omifer seemed to notice something and turned to look.
"What are you grinning like an idiot for?"
His brow furrowed. Something was off.
But Omifer's attention was not on Roland. What concerned him was that Anna was right beside Roland.
Walking together, the talented man and beautiful woman made a perfect match.
They looked like a couple made for each other.
Then he saw Roland lean sideways and lower his head to whisper something in Anna's ear.
"Hahahaha, there really is a bit of a resemblance."
Anna paused, then shook with laughter.
Omifer's expression darkened, his already stern face growing even more unpleasant.
"This way, please. The other esteemed attendees will be here shortly."
Before long, a staff member led the two inside.
Someone also reminded them, "There's still some time before we officially begin. Would you like to meet Grand Mage Omichidit and Lord Omifer in the lounge across the way first?"
They knew Anna came from the Pydos Mage Tower, but knew nothing of the bad blood between them.
"No need. We'll wait here."
Anna refused without hesitation.
The staff said nothing further.
Roland sat down and discussed the details of the hearing with Anna.
They had discussed it many times before and rehearsed all sorts of scenarios.
There were no problems with their basic preparations.
They simply did not know what tricks the people from Pidos would pull to stop them.
Anna was quite confident about that. She summed it up in one sentence: "Whatever they throw at us, we'll deal with it!"
Needless to say, this was another of "Roland's famous sayings."
"Everyone, welcome to this hearing. We will hear the application submitted by High Mage and Alternate Committee Member Lady Anna to establish an occult studies program at the East Lainer Mage Tower.
