"Your Excellency, Grand Mage Roland!"
When Antonia announced Roland's new status, the others rose as well, smiling and applauding.
"I believe Roland is more than qualified to be named a grand arcanist and become the uncrowned king of the arcane world!"
Another grand mage spoke with a smile.
"Grand mage" was actually an informal title used by the public and had rarely appeared in official documents before the arcane reform.
Terms such as ninth-rank mage and archmage were more commonly used in writing.
Even among these titles, however, there were certain unwritten conventions.
For example, someone who had won the Arcane Star Award could be honored as a grand arcanist at the ninth rank, while other mages had to reach legendary rank before they qualified for that title.
As the youngest Arcane Star Award recipient in history and the founder of a school, Roland fully deserved the honor.
The only potential point of contention was that such a title generally also required great prestige and moral standing.
After the brief congratulations, Antonia summoned an attendant and personally pinned a brand-new mage badge on Roland.
Its ornamentation had changed to the image of a sun.
Moreover, it was the Solar Gold Radiance, complete with flares, ornamentation, and all its magical symbolism. A line of Elvish Script was engraved beneath it, with a thoughtful translation into Seris characters in seal script alongside it.
