Aurelio held his wand and chanted, seemingly checking something against these incantations. Carola, meanwhile, focused intently on the instruments on the other side, joining several mages native to Sinvira in monitoring the data fed back by the source of magic.
"Contact with the Abyss established. Interdimensional Gate opening shortly...

A long, explosive tone rang in everyone's ears. Amid the low-level alarm, the mages who had already prepared acted together, instantly entangling the newly appeared quasits, ripper demons, and other monsters with Web Spell.
The demons forcibly summoned here roared and howled, issuing terrifying threats.
However, because the Interdimensional Gate used in the experiment had a low energy level, these demons were limited in both number and individual level.
Even Carola and the others, who had only recently begun participating in such experiments, quickly overcame their discomfort. They could even identify and classify the demons with perfect composure amid their howls and roars.
"Twelve test subjects successfully captured. Their types and levels largely meet expectations.

Carola quietly breathed a sigh of relief and said to Aurelio, "Finally done. Still, why do we have to catch them this way every time? Can't we use demons captured on the battlefield?
They're only lower-tier demons anyway. Asking the troops on the front lines to capture a small number wouldn't be much trouble, would it? That would be much better than opening an Interdimensional Gate every time to fish them straight out of the Abyss."
