In another room stood a massive tank.
The Undead Mage "Andanis" had been thrown inside like a goldfish placed in a glass bowl.
Water soon began pouring in, but it was not ordinary water. It was holy water suffused with an intense aura of light.
The surrounding magical lights cast a brilliant white glow. "Andanis" curled up inside, his skin deathly pale and bloodless, his eyes vacant, as though he had lost consciousness completely.
He braced both hands against the tank, seemingly trying to struggle, but the intense sacred power dissolved the negative energy within him and stripped him of his strength.
He could not even remain standing. Soon, the holy water rose over his body and buoyed him up, leaving him floating.
Before long, the holy water filled the tank and ate through his skin, corroding his flesh like a powerful acid.
Large quantities of crimson blood flowed out, settling at the bottom like sediment in muddy water.
A little while later, the intense holy light washed all of it away.
"Andanis," now resembling a desiccated corpse, gradually stopped moving. His eyes remained fixed on Roland below and Antonia and the others who had come after hearing the news.
Throughout it all, his face betrayed no expression, as though he refused to show weakness in front of them.
"That is a manifestation of mechanized mind. This man is actually a flesh puppet now. Otherwise, willpower alone could never suppress the body's natural reactions."
The knowledgeable Antonia reached that conclusion after watching for a while.
"A soul response has been detected. Comparative analysis of the mental fluctuations shows characteristics consistent with a human soul..."
"We have recorded the mental signatures. They do indeed match the Arcane Marks registered by Gallo and Rain to a considerable degree!"
