Li Ling stood on a terrace on the mountain, overlooking the sect grounds, with most of the Incense Accumulation Sect's buildings spread out before his eyes.
The sect's buildings were conventional, constructed using ordinary construction methods combined with spirit canals, array foundations, and the mountain-protecting grand array.
The rows of classical pavilions, terraces, and towers were nothing remarkable. The real effort lay in the arrays and restrictions beneath each building, which drew upon the roots of the Spirit Peak Blessed Land to protect the entire sect grounds.
These were protective measures truly capable of sheltering the disciples. Even without an expert at Foundation Establishment or above stationed there, they could withstand powerful outside enemies. Ordinarily, they blocked probing spiritual consciousness and prevented yin spirits, evil entities, and experts from slipping inside. When natural disasters or human calamities struck, the grounds would become a refuge.
The highest point within the Incense Accumulation Sect's grounds was occupied by the summit plaza and the main hall. The main hall, also called the Council Hall, was where guests were received, matters discussed, and formal gatherings held.
Around it stood subsidiary halls, which served as offices for the various departments and sect institutions.
Descending the steps from the plaza to the mountainside brought one to covered bridges and pavilions connected by long walkways, as well as secluded residences and compounds on the surrounding subsidiary peaks and in the valleys.
These were intended for inner disciples and true disciples. Since the true disciples were Foundation Establishment cultivators, most would be assigned territories elsewhere and stationed on islands beyond the main island. Thus, the residents here were essentially all disciples in the qi refining realm.
Farther down stood the sect's gatehouse and the great plaza before it.
