"What is this place?"
Shi Jizi felt the scenery flicker before his eyes, and everything around him immediately took on a different appearance.
Floating like an island in an infinite abyss was a platform created through the Dream-Evolving Art. Tiles laid side by side formed a place resembling the Heavenly Court.
It was an enormous, disc-shaped plaza. Li Ling hovered in the air, seated on a great stone chair floating at the center of the raised platform, looking down at the figure who had suddenly appeared.
"Was this your doing?"
Shi Jizi froze for a moment upon seeing him, then began to understand.
"This seems to be a dream."
Li Ling said, "Correct. This is indeed a dream."
Shi Jizi said, "Being able to bring me here is no small feat, but what can that accomplish? Do you intend to use the Dream Dao against me?"
Without confirming or denying it, Li Ling said, "I have already sealed this dream. Even if the Moon Libation Sword Immortal senses something amiss, he won't be able to detect it anytime soon. I can take my time dealing with you here until you are utterly eradicated."
Shi Jizi said in surprise, "You intend to kill me this way? Even if you truly can, how will you deal with the aftermath?"
"That is none of your concern," Li Ling said calmly.
He had already prepared for the worst: his fleshly body being destroyed and perishing here.
Unlike others, however, he could project his soul out of his body, so he would not truly die and have his Dao extinguished.
At worst, he would consume another large batch of Teaweed Incense and resources for recuperation, reforging his Dao Body and rebuilding his flesh.
The Day Wandering Realm nature of his soul was his greatest reliance.
