"That's right, incense arrays. I want to bring incense into the formation Dao and explore how the two can connect and coexist."
Li Ling explained.
"As far as I know, the artifact refining Dao and the formation Dao are closely related. In the artifact refining Dao, there are things called array treasures, usually treasured mirrors, command flags, banners, and the like. They are often used in sets and deployed through formation Dao methods, allowing arrays to be laid out very quickly."
Lin Ji said, "Indeed. Fellow Daoist Li, you have discussed the Dao with us many times, so you must know that the foundation of the formation Dao lies in its platforms. Array treasures, or towers, terraces, pavilions, and halls built of timber and earth, are common types of array foundations.
"The weakness most often criticized in our formation Dao is probably that these platforms are difficult to move. It is all too easy to draw a circle around ourselves and turn it into a prison.
"Array treasures exist to allow rapid formation deployment and, when necessary, even to carry an entire grand array from place to place.
"This application is entirely different from fixed installations on the scale of a Mountain Gate Grand Array. It can greatly strengthen us formation masters when we exchange blows and spells with others, rather than leaving us like livestock waiting to be slaughtered."
He continued, "Apart from the platforms, the most important element of the formation Dao is its restrictions. A formation master must lay down restrictions and connect the pathways before an array can function. The space inside a grand array is called its inner landscape, and almost all its platforms and restrictions are established within the field rooted there.
"Formation masters call the usable space in which platforms can be installed
