Three days later, in Great Abyssland in Deepwater Guestland, Li Ling strolled through the Market Gathering in white robes, looking every bit the elegant young gentleman of the mortal world, with a charming, adorable maid at his side. Everything he saw and heard belonged to a Demon Race marketplace brimming with the flavor of foreign peoples.
The Demon Race was an umbrella term covering an extremely broad range of beings. Ordinary people often confused them with spirit monsters, whose countless strange forms defied enumeration.
In truth, any living creature of mountain or sea-fish, insects, birds, or beasts-that attained spiritual awareness and transformed could be called a spirit. This emphasized a system of advancement in which cultivation transformed both an individual's physical form and the essence of its life.
