This was the Highland Mountains, a land of precipitous slopes and overlapping peaks. Exotic flowers and rare herbs grew throughout its forests, spirit resonance wreathed the air, and it had all the makings of a grotto-heaven blessed land. The enormous bone tree had crashed down with the force of the heavens collapsing, bringing vast stretches of mountainside down with it. Yet not far ahead, a huge bone branch happened to be embedded at an angle in the slope, with several ghosts' auras lingering around it like burning ghostfire.
"They can actually come out and move around in broad daylight?"
Lord Bashan sensed something strange.
After observing carefully for a while, however, Lord Bashan discovered that this mountainside lay in shadow. The Worry-Free Tree's bone branch had pierced a point where an earth vein flowed through a node, and had already taken root, becoming a smaller bone tree in its own right.
Without anyone noticing, it had become a refuge for the nearby wandering souls and ghost spirits, keeping their bodies and souls from dissipating during these days.
The Netherworld Sect members and Demon Kingdom subordinates stationed here had already been casually routed by the powerful figures who attacked this place. There were not enough people left to inspect every corner.
They had merely gathered their remaining forces in haste, checked the main trunk that had fallen below, and withdrawn.
