That day, the Libationers of the Heavenly, Earthly, and Human Pavilions and the Imperial Preceptors of Great Qian gathered to discuss the changes in heaven, sending shock waves through court and country.
"We, your servants Zhang Feng, Libationer of the Heavenly Pavilion, Lu Shou, Libationer of the Earthly Pavilion, and Zhu Lisheng, Libationer of the Human Pavilion, respectfully submit this memorial:
Great Qian governs the Mystic Continent in accordance with heaven's mandate above and the people's wishes below. Yet calamity and turmoil have existed since ancient times. Recent reports from the Unusual Events Bureau tell of frequent disasters throughout the land and demons springing up everywhere, with signs of stars shifting their courses and dragons and serpents rising upon the land, omens of greed, wrath, obsession, and grievance, and all manner of lurking fiends. The ignorant populace, bewitched by sorcerers, has consequently risen in rebellion. Risking death, we submit this memorial and reveal heaven's secrets, announcing the final tribulation to court and country to set the record straight and nip doubts in the bud. We humbly beg Your Majesty's gracious consideration.
The final tribulation is a calamity of immortals. This era spans one hundred and twenty-nine thousand six hundred years, during which all tribulations converge, their accumulated weight becoming impossible to reverse. Hence the saying that earth, wind, water, and fire will be reenacted and heaven and earth opened anew. It is not the end of the world.
There are ten signs of the final tribulation: slaughter erupting everywhere, the five declines of celestial beings, earth dragon uprisings, rampant floods, evil spirits running amok, dragons and serpents rising upon the land, the withering of the immortal root, the severing of spirit veins, stars shifting their courses, and heaven collapsing as the earth caves in. Many of these have already manifested.
