The guards of the Demon Alliance's branch headquarters soon fell back, losing ground at every turn until they were forced into the inner courtyard.
At last, an elder of the branch headquarters emerged. His brow furrowed at the sight, and he shouted sternly, "Who are you? How dare you run wild here!"
"Hehehehe, Elder Lai, what an imposing presence you have." A voice familiar to Elder Lai rang out. He turned to see a middle-aged man wearing a blue-gray cloak step out from among the demonized warriors who had stormed inside and appear before him.
"It's you, Lin Qi?" Elder Lai recognized the man. He was an elder of a different surname serving the Lin clan of the Lin Mountain Grotto-Heaven. As Lin Xun's trusted confidant, he had once managed the Demon Alliance's affairs, serving as a chess piece through which Lin Xun controlled the organization from afar.
But after the Lin Mountain Grotto-Heaven fell, Lin Qi had left in haste.
